Fuel-Sensor

Telemetry-EL

Fuel gauge for combustion and turbine

Is there enough fuel in the tank?
             Can I do another tow?
The Fuel-Sensor provides a reliable answer to such questions.

This telemetry sensor (for PowerBox P²BUS, Jeti EX-BUS and Spektrum X-Bus) measures the fuel flow from the tank to the engine or to the turbine and can therefore reliably display the tank level.

Fuel-Sensor (S)
With its measuring range of 20 - 150ml/min (in pressure lines up to 300ml/min) this sensor is suitable for combustion engines from approx. 50ccm and turbines up to approx. 100N. The fuel sensor is simply inserted into the fuel line and measures the flow in the fuel line. Gasoline and diesel/kerosene as well as methanol are possible fuels.
Fuel-Sensor (M)
With its measuring range of 15 - 200ml/min (in pressure lines up to 800 ml/min), this sensor is well suited for large combustion engines greater than100ccm and turbines up to approx. 200N thrust. The fuel sensor is simply inserted into the fuel line and measures the flow in the fuel line. Gasoline and diesel/kerosene as well as methanol can be used as fuel. Installation is very easy with the screws provided.
Various hose connections are available for installation in the fuel line:

  • FESTO connectors with 6mm or 4mm inner diameter
  • FESTO hose nipples with 2,95mm, 3,6mm  or 4,8mm outer diameter
Fuel sensor (L)
With its measuring range of 250 - 3000ml/min, this sensor is well suited for very large combustion engines and turbines >260N. The fuel sensor is simply inserted into the fuel line and measures the flow in the fuel line. Due to the axial structure, the measurement takes place with almost no resistance.
The only possible fuels are diesel and kerosene. The cylindrical sensor is simply inserted into the fuel line with the 4mm hose connectors. The attachment in the model can be done with two cable ties (included).
Telemetry for CORE/ATOM and Jeti
The fuel sensor can be connected to the Jeti EX-BUS and the PowerBox P²BUS. The protocol used is automatically recognized by the sensor. The settings in the sensor are also made via the BUS. A separate programming device is not required. With the Jeti, the setting is made via the JetiBOX in the transmitter and with the PowerBox via the sensor menu.
Only a few settings need to be made:
Reset channel:
The fuel gauge is reset manually after refueling via a freely selectable channel.
tank volume:
The tank size is set here and saved in the sensor.
Reserve:
This is the amount of fuel left in the tank when the alarm goes off.

The sensor is immediately ready for use. As soon as the fuel sensor is connected to the bus, it automatically adapts to the correct bus protocol.

The sensor supplies the following values:
  • Tank capacity in ml
  • tank content in %
  • Reserve volume in ml
  • flow in ml/min

(The values shown are shown accordingly for Jeti.)

Telemetry for Spektrum X-BUS
The fuel sensor (M) is also available in a Spekrum (X-Bus) version. In this version, the sensor has two X-Bus sockets on the side. The connection to the telemetry bus from Spektrum is made using the included X-Bus patch cable. Any channel on the receiver can be used for the sensor reset. The sensor is connected to the reset channel with the JR connector. It is not possible to configure the sensor.
The display in the transmitter is specified by the Airware. The sensor provides the current flow and the amount of fuel already used. You can also set an alarm in your transmitter's airware.

Startersets
This telemetry sensor (for PowerBox P²BUS and Jeti EX-BUS) measures the fuel flow from the tank to the engine or to the turbine and can therefore reliably display the tank level.
Due to the measuring range, the sensor is suitable for combustion engines from approx. 50ccm and for turbines with a thrust of up to approx. 100N.
